Happy 4th of July! God Bless America!

This morning I read a headline that said that Patriotism plummets ahead of Independence Day. Over the last few years, it has fallen below 60% of Americans that feel proud to be an American. That fact is a shame, but I'm one American who is still proud to live here in this great country. I love history. It is the reason I have written two series about the American Revolution and one about the Civil War. The American Revolution totally fascinates me. The brillance of how our forefathers set up the United States of America is truly astounding. As I write this, I am totally aware that some of these great men owned slaves. Yes, it would have been far better if slavery never happened. Slavery was a terrible instituion...horrible. At the time, the sad fact was that it was an accepted practice.
