I was shopping yesterday. It struck me that Christmas is just around the corner. The shops are filled already with Christmas decorations. Most years, I might have complained. This year, though, I think I appreciate the atmosphere more. I want to feel the joy and happiness that the holidays bring, even if it is before Thanksgiving. To be honest, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It's about being thankful. This Thanksgiving, I'm so grateful for so much. My family. My health. Also, for having the precious time with my momma before she passed. The loss of my mother has hit me hard. She fought hard to recover from her stroke last November, but I will hold  to  the moments we shared during those last few months. She will always be in my heart. I'm also grateful that I feel my writing again. It has come back. Under Seductive Secrets, I don't have the exact count because I can't see the all the numbers from Smashwords because they haven't been reported...but the numbers I have puts the downloads to around 45,000. When I first made the decision to go Indie, I realized that giving away a book was a must. When you're an author, your major challenge is getting readers to read your work. There is an ocean of books out there...you have do something to call attention to yourself. Last October, I released my first Indie venture. It was free. I thought I had done my due, but here I am again giving away a book. Why would I do it again? Especially since I'm not the fastest writer which may be attributed to my networking or my full time job or family... But let's look at Seductive Secrets . It took me a year to write. Yesterday, I got my new cover for Seductive Secrets. Love it! Went to Jimmy Thomas' sight. It was so easy and I believe the cover looks awesome. Been waiting for a while for Seductive Secrets to come up on Barnes and Noble. Smashwords said to give it time, but it been over two weeks since its been sent out. Patience is a virtue! Seductive Secrets has been released before under another title and another pen name.There are reasons for my move. It was first published as Daughter of Deceit under my other pen name. I hope there isn't too much confusion. I'm trying to get it up on Amazon as I write. But for right now...don't you love the new cover?
